Day 2 of Ceasefire: Israeli Sniper Kills Palestinian Child / Israel Continues to Kill Palestinians During “Ceasefire” / ACT NOW: Israel Breaks Ceasefire, Killing 2+ Palestinians / IDF Kill Multiple Palestinians on Day 2 of Ceasefire

Dear [Elected Official’s name],

Despite a declared ceasefire, Israeli forces have killed at least two Palestinian civilians, including a teenage boy in Rafah. Medical sources report that Israeli snipers targeted civilians, resulting in additional injuries, including those of children.

On the second day of the ‘ceasefire’:

Zakariya Barbakh, a Palestinian child, was shot dead by an Israeli sniper in central Rafah. A young man attempting to recover the child’s body was also targeted.
An Israeli drone strike near buffer zones in Rafah left several civilians injured.
In central Gaza, Israeli gunfire injured two Palestinians near the Netzarim axis, an area surrounded by Israeli military sites.
A Palestinian civilian was killed in Rafah after encountering an explosive device left behind by Israeli forces.
Al-Awda Hospital in Al-Bureij camp reported receiving victims injured by Israeli military gunfire.
This systematic targeting of civilians continuing into the ceasefire underscores Israel’s blatant disregard for international law and human rights. Netanyahu’s rhetoric describes the ceasefire as a “temporary pause”, warning that attacks on Gaza will continue. Now is not the time to pause accountability for these heinous crimes that continue to be committed with impunity.

We must suspend all relations with Israel. An arms embargo, a two-way trade embargo, and an end to all diplomatic relations with the state on trial for genocide and whose leaders are wanted war criminals at the ICC is the bare minimum. Sanctions have proven effective in halting egregious human rights abuses in other contexts; they must be applied here. The occupation must end.

This is not an unprecedented plea. It is simply a call for international law to be upheld and basic human rights for all to be protected. I implore you to uphold these and take decisive action.

Your constituent,
