Israel’s Execution of Palestinian Detainees

Select a Subject line: Israel’s Execution of Palestinian Detainees / Sanctions Now: End Israeli Abuse of Palestinian Detainees / End Torture and Extrajudicial Killing of Palestinian Detainees by Israel

Dear [Elected Official’s Name],

I am reaching out to implore you to take urgent and decisive action to address Israel’s killings and brutal treatment of Palestinian detainees. On November 9, Israeli forces released a group of 20 Palestinian prisoners in the Al-Sudaniya area of Gaza. In a horrific act of cruelty, three detainees—Hamza Mohammad Al Hato, Haj Ali Marouf, and Haj Nadi Marouf—were instructed to run by Israeli forces, who then opened fire on them as they did, killing them.

This incident is part of a larger, alarming pattern. In July, three Palestinian men were released while still bound and immediately executed, their bodies left in a field near Gaza’s border. A witness and family member of one of the victims later found the bodies stripped and still handcuffed. Attempts to retrieve his relative’s dismembered remains were met with gunfire from Israeli forces.

Leaked footage and witness accounts confirm Palestinian detainees—many of whom are humanitarian workers or civilians detained without charge under “administrative detention”—are being systematically subjected to torture and sexual violence. Reports include r*pe using electrified rods, attacks by dogs, and sexual assault, with survivors emerging severely traumatized and injured.

These acts must be denounced as the war crimes they are and met with sanctions against the Israeli state. The inaction of the international community enables this systematic abuse, sending a message that violations of human rights will go unchecked.

With over 100,000 Palestinians murdered by Israel, the need for action is long overdue. I implore you to sanction Israel, impose a two-way trade embargo, and full arms embargo. This will mount pressure on Israel to agree to a ceasefire and an end to the illegal occupation.

I look forward to you loudly advocating for human rights and international law to be upheld through these actions.

Your constituent,
