In addition to the families entirely annihilated, 3,463 others have been reduced to just a single survivor. Many of these are children, left to navigate life without their parents, siblings, or any extended family. The psychological and emotional scars of such loss will endure for generations. Videos shared on social media capture the heart-wrenching reality of these lone child survivors, offering an unbearable glimpse into the human toll of Israel’s assaults and starvation blockade.
Since October 2023, Israel has conducted 7,160 massacres against Palestinian families. These large-scale, targeted acts of violence are not only slaughtering tens of thousands but systematically dismantling the social fabric of Palestinian society. The destruction of families is an act of cultural and social erasure, compounding the tragedy of this genocide.
Amnesty International’s recent conclusion cannot be ignored, Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. The deliberate targeting of civilians and their homes, the obliteration of entire families, and the destruction of critical infrastructure are all acts committed with the intent to destroy a people. This cannot continue with impunity. You must take action.
Sanction Israel to enforce a ceasefire and hold its leadership accountable for violating international law. Sanctions have proven effective in halting egregious human rights abuses in other contexts; they must be applied here. This includes a ban on weapons and military equipment sales and licenses and a two-way trade embargo. We must also officially recognise the state of Palestine to affirm their right to self-determination.
