Israel has announced the full ethnic cleansing of Gaza City, in a move that will push Israel’s military occupation to more than 90% of Gaza’s land. Israel already controls all of Gaza — starving its population, preventing movement, and concentrating over 2 million Palestinians in an ever-dwindling area. Leaked plans show Israel’s intention to occupy Gaza permanently and force the mass displacement and transfer of Palestinians from the Strip entirely.

“Israel’s plan for a complete takeover of Gaza runs contrary to the ruling of the International Court of Justice that Israel must bring its occupation to an end as soon as possible.” UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk.

The Gaza City plan followed an Israeli Security Council meeting which identified five “principles”

    •    Disarming Hamas

    •    Return of all captives

    •    Demilitarisation of the Strip

    •    Israeli security control over Gaza

    •    Establishing an alternative civil administration — neither Hamas nor the PA

Israel has repeatedly shown it is not interested in securing the release of captives. What it is demanding is that Palestinians be disarmed while its illegal occupation and apartheid regime remain in place — a violation of international law. These grave crimes, in addition to this genocide, cannot be allowed to continue if human rights and peace are to ever be observed.

I call on you to immediately:

• ⁠Impose full, comprehensive sanctions on Israel.
• Enforce a complete two-way trade embargo — ending all import and export activity with Israel.
• Immediately end all arms sales and intelligence cooperation.
• Ensure the unimpeded access of aid and humanitarian organisations, and the suspension of GHF’s deadly “aid” sites.

This is a defining moment for humanity. End the genocide. End the ethnic cleansing. End the illegal occupation.
