The Global Flotilla—the largest mission of its kind to date—has set sail from Spain, with 50 boats expected to join. Loaded with humanitarian supplies, this marks the 38th mission to challenge Israel’s illegal blockade and open a humanitarian corridor into Gaza. Israel’s genocide rages on in Gaza unabated and without consequence, with two million people being intentionally starved to death.

The famine can only be ended by breaking Israel’s illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip, through land or sea. I therefore implore you to back this mission and force Israel to allow the flotilla through. In 2010, the Flotilla crew onboard the Mavi Marmara were attacked by Israel, and 10 peaceful activists were killed. In 2025, an earlier mission onboard the Conscience was directly bombed by Israel twice in international waters in Malta, and then in June and July 2025, activists onboard the Madleen and the Handala were taken captive in international waters by Israel and forcibly transferred to Israel. This cannot be allowed to happen again.

The ICJ has long determined that plausible genocide is taking place, and every major human rights organisation has affirmed that genocide is irrefutable. I urge you to support the Flotilla to enable safe passage and allow experienced humanitarian workers, medics, lawyers, journalists, and activists to deliver urgently needed aid to Gaza. A humanitarian corridor to Gaza must be established to enable unimpeded access for other humanitarian groups to deliver aid.

I call on you to ensure the government also:

• Impose full, comprehensive sanctions on Israel.
• Enforce a complete two-way trade embargo — ending all import and export activity with Israel.
• Immediately end all arms sales and intelligence cooperation.
• Ensure the unimpeded access of aid and humanitarian organisations, and the suspension of GHF’s deadly “aid” sites. The siege must be broken to end the genocide.
